Loved the Movie. Went to see the Prison location in Ohio. Very interesting. Wasn"t Red supposed to be an Irishman in the original story.

 

 

This was simply one of the best scripted and best acted scenes in movie history. Morgan Freeman didn"t get an Oscar for this. Omg this was my movie aa a kid. The scene with Brooks where he hangs himself makes me tear up every time. ??. This scene destroyed me the first times I watched this movie o_O. Whenever I see a movie that takes place in prison I feel sorry for the characters, as they must go through difficult and dramatic situations. But rarely I seen in this kind of movie the instinct of freedom, that grabs the viewer and holds it to the expectation of how the story will end. Although there are difficult situations, there is also good ones who manage to balance coexistence, and makes the film not be so dramatic. I think that for a film to succeed, the principal actors must have good chemistry to demonstrate the talents in their performances, and the chemistry between Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins is unsurpassed.
It"s a great film, well directed and the performances are flawless.

Andy was in shawshank for 19 years not 25. Come on Seth. There"s alot of subtlety in each hearing scene. 1947- Parole officer is snide, all on the board are white men. Red acts overzealous. Parole Denied. 1957. Officer is rude and callous,Red is nonchalant. Parole Denied. 1967. The Parole office is younger and polite, There"s a woman on the board and the rest of the board looks prim and reserved, Red is humble and blunt about his past and his lifer status. Parole GRANTED.

I love the fact that the picture of a young Red on the parole form is actually Freeman"s real-life son. Awesome movie. At 2:03 : I had your mama. She wasn"t that great lol. Stream directly to your PC, Mac, Gaming console and handheld devices. The Freeman must now hurry on! The Eli Vance is held in distress most dire. The best line is I want my momma. I had had your momma. She wasn"t all that great. ????????. I was so happy when Andy and Red reunited. Kudos to everyone who lobbied for the inclusion of that scene. The Shawshank Redemption is in my top 5 best movies of all time. Forest Gump is not even in the top 50. As a kid I hated these movies. I didnt understand them and they were so long I would fall asleep. After many years of believing they were terrible movies and having no desire to read the books I finally gave in and read them. Just finished today and loved them. Gave the movies another chance after probably 15 years and loved them too. They are different from the books in many ways, but very good. Glad I finally took a second look with an older eye.
